Set Up

Setting up the LaCie d2 DVD with LightScribe is very easy and took only a few minutes. After choosing my connection mode (FireWire) and plug the AC adapter I was ready to install the software. Installation of the software has been swift and necessary to complete a restart.

LightScribe

The LightScribe label is nice, but not as black as it seeks a nice color label printed on my printer Epson RX700. The printed labels with LightScribe LightScribe on the CD bundled with the LaCie d2 DVD with LightScribe have a grayscale type image in the burned.

The finished product reminds me of lithography or etching in the soft final image you end up with on the CD. The costs partly on this type of label is that the image or text is embedded in the surface of the disc can not therefore smear, smudge or save it. The bad part about this is if you ruin your label, you must start from scratch with a new disc and lose your data.

I marked with a CD with a fairly complex image of a car on a road and it took about 23 minutes to put the best to label the CD. In comparison, my Epson RX700 can print directly to the disk color in less than 5 minutes.

Films, music and games

The LaCie d2 DVD with LightScribe done an excellent job with films, games and music. I noticed no difference in speed reading with any type of support compared to my PC DVD. LightScribe is Windows XP, 2000 and Mac OS 10.3.9 compatible.

Summary

Overall, the LaCie d2 DVD with LightScribe is as good by all means that any internal CD or DVD that I used. It is quick, quiet and a cool feature LightScribe. In addition, if you need a new DVD player and do not want to open your computer or pay someone to install a disc for you, the LaCie d2 DVD with LightScribe is easy to install and requires you simply plug the camera with a MSRP of around $ 130 you get a lot of noise for your money with LightScribe, multi-format CD and DVD double layer and DVD.
